In this blog post, I was interested in telling you a bit about my skin care journey, especially about those annoying dark spots that result from acne breakouts. My journey with this has been super long and even using medically prescribed ointments that are costly (appointment with a specialist and purchasing these products) didn’t work very well for erasing or lightening the marks. To be completely honest with you guys, I do not touch my face at all and am very diligent about my skincare routine. I wash and moisturize my skin every morning and night and am obsessed with serums and high end products. After all, I have to face the world with this face every day, so it only makes sense to take care of my skin. Additionally, my love of makeup and different trends for makeup make it crucial to maintain my skin so that these makeup looks appear the best that they can!
Enter Neostrata’s skincare line, which I was sent to try. I have been using it everyday for about four months and am beyond obsessed with the results. My dark sports that have resulted from nasty pimples fade away after a few days, and it makes makeup coverage and concealer use amazing for the reason that I use much less product and my skin looks super healthy (and all one color)! I had been struggling to find a full coverage foundation because of these problems with the ugly dark spots peeking through even after all my work trying to hide them, and Neostrata’s skin care line has dramatically helped me to be able to get by just using a bb cream, which is outstanding to me.

The Ultra Brightening Cleanser is a creamy wash formulated to gently cleanse and exfoliate. It also contains a brightening blend of Alpine Plant extracts. This cleanser effectively removes oil and makeup, leaving the skin healthy and refreshed. I use this product at the end of the day to remove all my makeup after a long day at work and play. It works wonders on my skin and leaves it ready for the next steps.
The illuminating Serum is one of my favorite products from the line, because I have issues with serums pilling when I apply my facial primer and this product works seamlessly with my other makeup products. This light serum is designed to illuminate and brighten skin that is affected by hyperpigmentation caused by aging and UV exposure. It not only does that but also contains 5 potent brighteners that help break up and reduce the appearance of existing pigmentation and discourage new spots from forming. NeoGlucosamine increases exfoliation and fades the look of existing skin discolorations. Note: This is why all the products work well in tandem: the exfoliation is a great way to remove these dark spots. The great part is that it works gradually so I did not experience any irritation. I use this after applying my toner in morning.
Their skin Brightener SPF 25 this daily triple-action moisturizer is formulated with NeoGlucosamine to gently exfoliate and diminish the appearance of skin discoloration. This is super gentle, so no worries for my super sensitive skin. It contains skin brighteners, Butyl Resorcinol and Tumeric Extract discourage new spots from ever appearing and promotes even skin tone, which everyone is looking for! This product also has potent antioxidants Chardonnay Grape Seed Extract and Vitamin E work with broad spectrum sunscreen to help prevent environmental and oxidative damage. Talk about a great product! I put this on after the serum to create a protective barrier from the environment’s effects. The added benefit of the SPF helps it work why it protects.
The pigment Controller is an advanced formula with clinically proven technologies to target pigmentation and help reduce new dark spots. As in all the products in the line, it increases increases exfoliation and diminishes appearance of skin discoloration. Tumeric Extract helps brighten and prevent new dark spots while Vitamin E protects skin from further damage. Optical diffusers brighten skin instantly. I use this one every other day especially if I have larger breakouts that are healing and need an extra boost to help the skin go back to its natural state.
